For diseases I have diabetes, anorexia, and obesity, Or would anorexia and obesity be a condition? Please help with your answers! Asked by Saraa - Fri Apr 16 10:28:56 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Diabetes and Obesity are two good examples. I don't think that anorexia directly results from a poor diet- it's most likely due to a mix of family history, social factors, and personality traits. You could say cardiovascular disease as a third. Answered by unknown - Fri Apr 16 10:37:44 2010 Question about Diseases and Conditions of the Circulatory System? Q. One of your patient's dietary habits is beyond poor. They generally eat fat laden foods, excessive salt, soft drinks (sodas, pop), pastries, sometimes they eat just minutes before going to sleep, fried foods are a must, fast foods are eaten daily, don't even think they exercise one bit, lifting the fork to their mouth is their only form of exercise. The only fresh fruits and vegetables they consume are either covered in chocolate or smothered in cheese. What would you tell this person? Asked by Sweets - Tue Dec 22 14:43:27 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. They need to improve their diet. The foods they are eating are not helping their health and their overall well-being. The types of food described are not helpful in strengthening the immune system which would cause them to be more susceptible to illnesses such as the flu and other viruses. A poor diet could also cause malnutrition and weight gain. Their diet would also be filled with chemicals and additives. While eating any fruits and veggies are a much better option, without the additives would be more healthy to eat. In general, they would need to fix their diet. Q. Does the human genome hold the keys to unlocking the diseases and conditions that confound society? Asked by Sarah A - Sat Dec 9 14:04:06 2006 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Yes, it does. When we know exactly what genes cause what diseases we can then 'target' them with programmed drugs or even better, with new "gene therapies" that can fix these genes and cure the diseases! Just imagine, a world with no baldness, no color-blindness. I mention these because they are caused by genetic malformations, things that can be corrected by genetic therapies. There are of course 100's of other things to cure, but these are just two off the top of my head that are CAUSED by GENES. Then we can learn WHY we age. How to keep organs healthy by keeping each organ alive longer, thus increasing the age of the individual, possibly by 50 or more years just at first. During that 50 years, what breakthroughs could happen?
